Raw vs Pure Water
As humans, primarily made up of 70% water, how exactly do we go about giving our bodies the right amounts of water and how do we really know it’s safe for consumption?
According to research, prescription drugs and hormone drugs land up in our drinking water as they are flushed down the toilet. A recent study by Brunel University states “Nearly half of women and men in England now regularly take prescription drugs” leading to a flux in the number of contaminants in tap water.
Traces of oestrogen, anti-depressants and stimulants are long withstanding and can be traced in our urine. Even after being recycled the hormones in these drugs are still present in water. As people become more health conscious about what we are putting into our bodies as well as the planet, we divert back to the debate of water consumption and which means is best. Fast growing is the debate between distilled and raw (or organic water).
While distilled water may seem to be the “purest” or cleanest form of water, we do not recommend distilled water for drinking as this could lead to mineral deficiencies and high acidity levels in the body.
Instead, we recommend using distilled water for cleaning and hygiene purposes in homes, medical or cosmetic industries.

Distilled water
Distilled water undergoes the process of distillation which removes all impurities that may include heavy metals and pesticides, as well as radioactive contaminants in some cases. This process also removes all minerals from the water.Raw/Organic water
Raw water is water in its most natural form, from a natural source. This means it contains both good and bad bacteria. Many people believe this is the way water was intended to be consumed, however just because it’s from a natural source, doesn’t mean it is entirely all “good for you”. Natural water without purification could contain bad bacteria, and pollutants causing cholera and malaria.Filtered water
Filtered water is water that has gone through some sort of filtration process in which bad bacteria, harmful chemicals, toxins and dissolved solids are removed. This is the healthiest and safest out of drinking water that will not only save the environment but also maintain a healthy hydrated body. While distilled water may seem to be the “purest” or cleanest form of water, we do not recommend distilled water for drinking as this could lead to mineral deficiencies and high acidity levels in the body.
