What is Distilled water?

Natural water contains a number of microscopic contaminants, along with minerals, such as calcium and iron. Distilled water is purified water that has been produced by a process of distillation and has an electrical conductivity of not more than 10 µS/cm.

Distillation is the process of boiling water and then condensing the steam into a clean container, leaving solid and unwanted contaminants behind. Once this process is complete the water will then have no impurities and can be used as both a distilled or deionized water.

This method of purifying water removes all bacteria, organic and inorganic particles, viruses, minerals, salts, and metals. Once the water has been purified it must be stored in a sterilised container to maintain its purity.
